Pre-Master's programmes (2023)

(Pre) MSc Marketing becomes a selective programme

The MSc Marketing will become a selective programme from September 2023 intake onwards. This will have consequences for the Pre-Master Marketing 2023 application deadline and entry requirements.

As of September 2023, new Pre-Master's programmes with a reduced number of EC will be introduced. Check the information on this website to see which programme you can apply to.

30/45 EC programmes

You qualify for the 30EC programme if your HBO programme is on this list. If your programme is not on the list, this means you need to follow the 45 EC.

30 / 45 EC after half a year or one full year

When you have successfully passed all the mandatory courses of your Pre-Master’s programme, and submitted proof for the Mathematics level required, then you can be admitted to the corresponding Master's programme.

60 EC after one year

When you have successfully passed all the mandatory courses of your Pre-Master programme, you can be admitted to the corresponding Master's programme.

Missing EC? The Pre-Master can be prolonged with a maximum of one year only when you have obtained the threshold of at least:

• 50 EC of your 60 EC programme

• 40 EC of your 45 EC programme

• 25 EC of your 30 EC programme

Important to know (non-EU students): Please note that EC rules might differ for non-EU students due to the MoMi requirement set by IND. For updates and information, please consult the IND website.

In order to apply for the standard Pre-Master's programmes you need to register in Studielink. Please note that the name of the Pre-Master programme in Studielink might differ from the name of the Pre-Master you decided to follow. See below which programme you need to register for in Studielink. It is important that you sign up for the correct programme in Studielink from the beginning. In this way, your application will be evaluated for the right Pre-Master's programme.

Application deadlines Dutch diploma

• 1 March - for the Pre-MSc Marketing
• 1 July - for all the other Pre-MSc programmes

Please read the instructions for your registration in Studielink very carefully and follow the steps precisely.

!! Students interested in Pre-MSc Econometrics, Operations Research and Actuarial Studies and Pre-MSc Economics, need to register in Studielink and the Online Application System (OAS). You first register for the Master's programme of your choice. If you do not meet the requirements for direct admission, the Admissions Board will check your application in order to determine whether a Pre-Master programme can be offered.
